The Coding Contest Makes U.S. Debut in New Orleans

The Coding Contest is an international computer science competition that takes place simultaneously in cities around the world. The event has never taken place in a U.S. city, until now.

New Orleans-based software engineering and data science firm Flow Digital has partnered with the University of New Orleans to bring The Coding Contest to America. The New Orleans event will take place this Friday, April 27, the same date as other participating cities, including many in Austria where the competition was launched in 2007.

Limited spots are still available for the event. Organizers said that all students currently enrolled at a Louisiana higher education institution are eligible to participate. “The Coding Contest, founded by Austrian corporation Catalysts in 2007, gives students the opportunity to test their coding skills against those of their local peers, as well as thousands of other technology-savvy students participating worldwide,” shared Flow Digital.

In 2017, The Coding Challenge engaged over 4,000 students in more than 50 cities. The 2018 challenge is expected to be even larger.
