Two Louisiana STEM Companies Win National Business Competition

SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors who help entrepreneurs mentoring sessions, workshops and educational services.

The organization is the host of the annual American Small Business Championship, recognizing some of the best small businesses in the country. Two women-owned Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) businesses were recently awarded this week among other small business winners.

Technology & Learning Center in Mandeville and New Orleans-based Model Content won an all-expense-paid trip to SCORE’s training and networking event, and ongoing mentoring and publicity. Both companies also have a chance to win three of the grand prizes valued at $15,000.

One hundred other entrepreneurs were recognized as a 2018 American Small Business Champions.

“It means so much for this award to come from SCORE, considering the transformative role it plays in people’s lives. Starting your own business is a bold and risky move, and SCORE helps you do it right.” shared Molly Kramer, founder and creative director of Model Content.
