All the Black Tech Events Happening in New Orleans During Essence Festival

Essence Festival is an annual event hosted during 4th of July weekend in New Orleans. The festival has everything from music concerts to conferences and expos, this year slated for July 5-8, 2018.

Several organizations have planned events to connect black tech professionals and entrepreneurs of color in the technology industry during Essence.

BlackTech Week is an immersive week long series of events that brings together the most innovative young minds, creative influences and thought leaders of color. The organizers are heading to New Orleans to bringing their celebration to here, kicking off the festival with a daylong event called BlackTech Weekend NOLA on July 5.

NOLAVATE Black, an initiative of Short Speaks Creative, is also hosting an inclusive innovation conference called Black Tech New Orleans, which will run July 5-6 and be filled with panels, fireside chats, and keynote speakers.

“Startups and minority owned businesses are encouraged to stop by the pop-up Innovation Lab each day offering an on-site learning space and business center, including free headshots and LinkedIn workshops sponsored by Microsoft,” shared NOLAVATE Black.
