Facebook is bringing its Community Boost program designed to help small businesses grow through improving digital skills to New Orleans. The company will be hosting workshops, business training, and networking events August 7-9 at River City Venues in New Orleans.
A representative said that the company is making a big announcement at 10 am on Tuesday, August 7.
Sessions will include: Getting Started with Facebook, Connecting with Local Shoppers, Getting Business done with Instagram, Finding New Customers with Facebook, Taking Facebook Ads to the Next Level, Growing your Business Internationally and more.
“Attendees will have the opportunity to be trained on Facebook tools including Business Pages, Messenger, Instagram and more, to help them connect with customers and best manage a digital presence,” shared Facebook. “Following the training, all participants will be granted access to free online support to build upon these learnings.”

New Orleans is also one of 13 cities selected for a new partnership with Facebook and the National Urban League to provide digital skills training across the country beginning in 2019.
“Facebook wants to help more people benefit from the opportunities being created by technology,” said Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg. “That’s why we made a commitment to train 1 million people and small businesses across the country in digital skills by 2020.”
