Louisiana-Based Startup Waitr Launches in More Than 20 New Cities

The on-demand food delivery service Waitr is continuing to rapidly expand to new  markets across the southern and southeastern U.S.

Earlier this year Waitr was acquired by Texas billionaire Tilman Fertitta, owner of the Houston Rockets and president of Landry’s restaurants. He runs Landcadia Holdings,  a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company, which combined with Waitr.

Waitr is now available in more than 20 new cities including: Asheville, Chattanooga, Little Rock, Hattiesburg, New Iberia, LA, and others.

“Expansion into these exciting new cities allows us to further drive our strategic regional initiatives,” said Chris Meaux, founder and CEO of Waitr. “By focusing on and specializing in these secondary and tertiary cities, we are able to bring the convenience of Waitr’s online ordering and delivery platform to a large population of consumers who’ve yet to experience our best-in-class service.”

This year alone Waitr has expanded into 45 new cities. The company has more than 6,200 restaurant partners in more than 230 cities.
