In August, Facebook visited New Orleans to help small businesses grow through improving digital skills. The Community Boost program was a success.
Facebook reported New Orleans is one of the top 10 markets in the United States for Facebook Jobs postings. More than one million people have found jobs through these postings.
New Orleans-based Zeus’ Rescues began using Facebook for hiring needs in February 2017 and has received hundreds of applications to date.
The company also recently launched Learn with Facebook, a free career development resource that provides an introduction to both the hard and soft skills people need to advance in today’s digital workforce. Facebook is teaching people things like how to ace a job interview or improve your content marketing.
Last but not least, Facebook has updated its Mentorship tool, something that connects people with others in their field with more expertise. All of these updates are part of Facebook’s pledge to train 1 million people and small business owners by 2020.
