New Orleans-based Son of a Saint is dedicated to enhancing the lives of fatherless boys in New Orleans through mentorship, emotional support, development of life skills, relationship development, and more.
Son of a Saint organizes events and activities, meetings and mentorship opportunities, and other programming for the kids. From a logistical standpoint, the organization was looking for a better way to streamline everything. Founder Bivian “Sonny” Lee III put out a call on social media for an app developer to help them save time and resources.
Enter Flow Digital, a local software development firm that worked with Son of Saint to create an efficient and effective app for the organization’s needs. The app will launch later this month and offer users five different types of accounts for those tied to the organization, including administrators, mentors, mentees, guests, and volunteers.
“The Son of a Saint app will be a game-changer for our programming,” shared Lee. “Managing the logistics will become less high-touch, allowing us to focus on what we do best: supporting our boys.”
The app features an events calendar to manage its more than 20 events per month, an RSVP system, a secure communication center, a spot to upload files, plus a transportation logistics section.
Son of a Saint plans to grow into new locations, including Baton Rouge, and the new app will help the team do so. According to the company, they may also license the technology to other mission-based organizations in the future.
