The Ada Lovelace Awards recognize the accomplishments of women in technology from across the Gulf South region, including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and Texas.
Hosted by New Orleans-based software development studio LookFar, the Awards began in 2015, honoring over 20 women in the area. In 2017, the event expanded to the Gulf South region and recognized more than 100 women in tech.
“In order to continue the growth trajectory of this event, we are moving the Ada Lovelace Awards to Women’s History Month!” shared the organizers. The 2019 Ada Lovelace Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, March 26 at the Civic Theater.
LookFar is seeking nominees across six categories this year: Software Engineer, Tech Founder, Product Manager, UI/UX Designer, Digital Marketer, or STEM Educator. All nominees will be considered with four pillars in mind, including impact, leadership, innovation, and community.
“While there are many roles that women fill throughout the tech industry, we can’t possibly cover each one. We hope that you feel the categories below are a strong representation of the larger set,” shared LookFar.
Nominations are due by Friday, March 1 at 6:00 pm.
