Lyft Announces Driver Advisory Council Rollout in New Orleans

Lyft’s Driver Advisory Council (DAC) program, a first of its kind, is designed to bring driver feedback directly to Lyft and help inform the company’s decision-making.

“The DAC is made up of a diverse group of drivers who serve as a link between Lyft and the driver community nationwide,” revealed Lyft following the program launch in 2016.

Earlier this year, Lyft brought on new advisory council members in cities such as Detroit, Houston, and Las Vegas.

The program is now expanding to New Orleans to provide an opportunity for drivers to give first-hand feedback and engage with their local driver community.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Driver Advisory Council to New Orleans, providing local drivers with the opportunity to make a true impact within the company,” said Sam Bond, general manager for Lyft Southeast. “DAC members are often the most well-versed in the app, working with the driver and rider communities on a daily basis.”

Lyft continues to expand its footprint in New Orleans following the opening of both an operations hub at The Shop at the CAC and a driver support center in 2018.

“Driving for Lyft has been one of the best decisions of my life. Lyft’s core values and fundamentals mimic mine and meeting customers every day is such a great experience,” shared local Lyft driver Darren LaBarthe. “My passion about being a part of the Driver Advisory Council in New Orleans is about putting drivers in the best position to succeed.”
