This summer during Essence Festival yet, tech leaders from across the country will convene to talk about equity, access, advancement and retention at the second annual Black Tech NOLA conference.
Black Tech NOLA will take place July 1-3 at the Ace Hotel and feature talks, demos, workshops, small business sessions, and after hours events.
One of the featured speakers in Hannah Beachler, a film production designer and Academy Award winner for Black Panther, who will be talking about representation in tech and film.
There are also three tech tracks scheduled for the conference, including:
- Intro to Tech: Participants can take an intro to code class, build a chat bot, explore cloud computing or learn how to design apps without code. Workshop attendees will also get free AWS credits to support their digital media projects.
- StartUps: Minority-owned businesses are encouraged to stop by the Innovation Lab each day, an on-site learning space, where Good Work Network will have office hours to answer your small business questions. Learn about access to capital, meet investors, and get resources to scale your small businesses.
- Tech Life: D&I and HR leaders will offer workshops and meetups for professionals looking to advance in the industry. One-on-one coaching, resume writing, interview workshops, and navigating the tech world.
