NexusLA Announces Pitch Competition During Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week

NexusLA, organizers of Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week, have announced a high-stakes pitch competition culminating at the festival on November 15. Up to $100,000 is up for grabs for participating entrepreneurs.

Applications for the pitch competition are due by September 23.

To qualify for the pitch, businesses must be based in Louisiana, must have less than $250,000 of annual revenues and received less than $250,000 in capital investment (not including friends and family) as of December 31, 2018.

Companies based outside of Louisiana can also apply for the pitch competition if they certify they will relocate if they win.

The semi-finalists will pitch first at a private event in October, and then again at Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week if they qualify for the finals.

“We realized that a truly high-stakes pitch competition based on investability was important to help raise the profile of high-potential companies in Louisiana and connect them to our regional investment community,” said Genevieve Silverman, President and CEO of NexusLA. “We believe that this competition, while rigorous, will be a great step toward building a stronger innovation ecosystem in Baton Rouge.”
