The Idea Village is a New Orleans-based nonprofit that supports the region’s entrepreneurs and those who power them. The organization has launched applications for its 16-week GAN accelerator program VILLAGEx focused on technology-enabled, scalable startups.
GAN, formerly called the Global Accelerator Network, connects over 100 accelerators to partners and investors to help create thriving startups communities. The Idea Village was invited to join GAN earlier this year, furthering their support of New Orleans entrepreneurs tied to a global network of resources.
The Idea Village is looking for companies that have:
- A new or unproven business model with the potential to revolutionize how business is conducted in a particular industry.
- Leverages new technology to improve a business process or bring a new product to market, or
- Serves a new or niche market in an innovative way.
“We’re looking for the relentless innovators, the industry changemakers, the entrepreneurs who are ready to take their ventures to the next level,” shared The Idea Village team.
Applications are due on October 25, and the program runs from January 6 through April 28.
To date, 261 startups have graduated from The Idea Village’s accelerator programs, raised $240 million in capital, and generated $252 million in annual revenue in the last fiscal year.
