Bascom Hunter provides advanced technical solutions for customers in extreme operating environments, such as the aerospace and defense markets. The company announced the acquisition of Xcelaero, Inc., which builds and supplies high-performance fans and air movers for industrial and defense applications.
The company is based out of the Louisiana Technology Park, a business incubator that provides resources for growth-stage technology enabled companies. Bascom Hunter’s acquisition will bring at least five new jobs to Baton Rouge.
“We’re extremely excited to welcome Xcelaero to the Bascom Hunter team,” said Bascom Hunter President Andrew McCandless. “Xcelaero has a strong history of commitment to developing industry-leading technology, hiring highly qualified people with deep domain expertise and a strong focus on the customer mission.”
The acquisition will allow the organization to provide more solutions to its customers, and strengthens the company’s management team. Xcelaero will now be a division of Bascom Hunter.
Bascom Hunter plans to move into a brand new facility in Baton Rouge later this year. “We’ve been planning this move for the better part of a year, making sure our new headquarters will be the perfect spot for us to continue our growth,” said McCandless.
