UPDATE [March 12, 2020] Due to concerns surrounding COVID-19, New Orleans Entrepreneur Week and NOEW in Your Neighborhood has been cancelled.
New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) celebrates entrepreneurship, innovation, and new thinking in New Orleans.
NOEW kicks off on March 22 with four days of community-organized events during NOEW in Your Neighborhood, and concludes with two days of programming at the NOEW Summit.
There are 30 events happening across 14 neighborhoods this year at NOEW in Your Neighborhood. The events include pitch competitions, STEM education, aerospace technologies, design thinking, sustainability and health innovation, and more.
The Silicon Bayou Startup Showcase, hosted by Silicon Bayou News in partnership with Fund 17, is a science fair-style event designed to highlight startups in the New Orleans area with innovative products and businesses. The event is scheduled for March 23 at The Shop at the CAC.
Originally launched during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week in 2014, the Silicon Bayou Startup Showcase will feature up to 10 ventures on March 23 at The Shop at the CAC. Applications to showcase your business at the event are due Friday, March 13.
Other NOEW in Your Neighborhood events include: the New Orleans Health Innovators Challenge hosted by the New Orleans Business Alliance; the 2020 Women in Business Challenge: Scale Up, hosted by the Women’s Business Resource Center; the 6th annual Startup St. Bernard pitch competition; and the Ada Lovelace Women in Technology Awards.
“Local entrepreneurship is a critical piece of the economic growth strategy for New Orleans,” said Quentin L. Messer, Jr., president and CEO of the New Orleans Business Alliance. “The NOEW in Your Neighborhood platform ensures that support is fostered for local ventures of all sizes and stages. We are thrilled to host the New Orleans Health Innovators Challenge for the third year as a featured part of this initiative.”
