New Orleanians Organize Virtual Concert Series in Response to COVID-19

Newly launched Sofa King Fest is a one-stop source for all your couch streaming concert needs in a time when many are staying home in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Think festival grid meets TV Guide,” shared organizers Nicki Gilbert, Travis Laurendine, and Reid Martin, three New Orleanians with ties to the global music industry. The trio will be sharing live streamed concerts for fans today through March 31.

“Sofa King Fest is an emergency response online music and arts festival and directory aimed to minimize your COVID-19 quarantine boredom, while providing a platform to raise money for artists, crew, and music industry professionals affected by this pandemic.”

Artists are encouraged to sign up to host intimate concerts around the world through the Sofa King Fest website.

So far, Laurendine has confirmed that singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge has signed up through the artist sign up form.
