The Resiliency Series is a collaborative effort by Opportunity Machine, NexusLA, The Idea Village, and Silicon Bayou News to help connect entrepreneurs throughout Louisiana and beyond. The virtual event series will let entrepreneurs hear from a peer group about developing resiliency in this crisis, and plan for a hopeful future.
Kicking off this Friday, May 1, we’ll hear from a panel of veteran entrepreneurs that will share what they learned to develop a resilient approach to their businesses and lives, as our community plans for what the future looks like. Speakers include Chris Meaux, private investor and former CEO of Waitr Inc., Corey Tisdale of BBQ Guys, and Chris Schultz and Anne Driscoll of LaunchPad.
“We know the economic landscape has changed – and will likely continue changing for quite a while – so how can we adapt?” asks The Idea Village. “Governments are continually making dramatic decisions that affect every part of our lives — but like with every disaster or downturn that Louisiana has weathered, as we pull together, we will emerge from this stronger than ever.”
Throughout the event series, attendees can expect programming featuring entrepreneurs who can share their experiences during times of disasters and downturns, opportunities to connect with other entrepreneurs and professionals through breakout sessions, virtual networking, and an expo area to learn about resources to support your business.
“There’s really no greater time for this collaborative effort to take place,” said Wendy Overton, Director of Strategy and Development for NexusLA. “Entrepreneurs are constantly faced with adversity and challenges, but very rarely are they all up against the same, monumental challenge. This series is going to bring entrepreneurs together so they can tackle it as one community, and learn how their predecessors managed similar struggles from their pasts.”
