There’s a new online marketplace out there, and it’s only available in New Orleans. MyHoodExchange (MHE) is the first local online marketplace that introduces a solution to better facilitate the exchange of everyday goods and services within the city.
“What’s unique about MHE is that you have everything from local artisans selling their latest creations to small businesses expanding their reach, to your neighbor selling her designer bag,” explained the MHE team. “It’s a one-stop-shop for a wide variety of products and services.”
Co-founder Courtney Ordone says the company is designed for both buyers and sellers, and provides the opportunity to safely exchange goods with neighbors and keep the profits within the community.
Popular categories include small electronics, home goods, arts and crafts, and games. Shoppers can enjoy same-day or next-day delivery for just $5, and up to 48 hour returns for local deliveries.
“We feel uniquely positioned in that we’re providing a service to New Orleans communities that has yet to be offered in this way,” shared Ordone.
The company’s long term goal is to expand to other zip codes, but for now is focused on creating a positive, seamless experience for neighbors in New Orleans right now.
