The Idea Village, producers of New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, recently hosted a pitch competition for three local startups who participated in their accelerator program earlier this year.
The three finalists at the IDEApitch Winter Showcase were all technology startups, including: Unlock’d, a real-estate technology company that puts the power of selling back into the hands of the homeowner; Gilded, a crypto-currency and accounting company which allows companies to use these currencies in business transactions; and DOCPACE, a patient waiting room management solution that creates efficiencies for doctors and medical staff with state of the art automation.
After the eight-minute pitches followed by Q&A from six judges, DOCPACE was announced the winner of the IDEApitch Winter Showcase and recipient of the $50,000 investment prize.
DOCPACE is a female-founded, New Orleans-based business on a mission to reduce wait times, eliminate the need for waiting rooms and ultimately revolutionize the way patients and staff experience the appointment journey.
Founder Shelby Sanderford said, “It was a joy to share the progress DOCPACE achieved this year at the IDEApitch Winter Showcase. I see DOCPACE as a channel to help people; a path through which medical logistics and outcomes can be improved for Doctors, staff and patients.”
