The Society for Science, known for expanding scientific literacy, STEM education, and scientific research, announced the recipients of its STEM Action Grant program.
A total of $165,000 was awarded across 38 organizations this year, including Be Loud Studios in New Orleans.
Be Loud Studios amplifies kid confidence through radio and digital media production. “We help turn screens into tools for creative self-expression and courageous collaboration,” shared executive director Alex Turner. “Kids need outlets to speak up and be heard, and they need safe places to practice using digital tools.”
The organization received $4,000, which will help a greater number of children investigate and report on issues across the city.
