Last night over 50 hackers, coders, designers, business folks, and idea guys gathered together at the Peter Mayer headquarters in downtown New Orleans for the first Codemkrs Hackathon.
Travis Laurendine welcomed the crowd, the sponsors gave their 2 cents, the idea men pitched their app ideas, then the hackers got to work. Ideas included a NORD playground activity schedule, a concession stand and rest room wait time app, a restaurant availability app, a digital tip jar for artists and musicians, and a Mardi Gras float rider app.
The teams worked late into the night on their ideas. They got t shirts, a dinner from Sainte Marie, and pizza at midnight from Naked Pizza. Some teams were still working early into the morning hours when those that went to bed the night before showed up for beignets and coffee.
More to come this afternoon on the interesting apps, the teams, and the early favorites to win it all!
