Codemkrs’ Next Hackathon: “Outside Hacks” Takes Over Outside Lands Festival

After Hackeroo, the first official Bonnarro hackathon, festival lovers wondered what Codemkrs founder Travis Laurendine’s next target would be. In partnership with Gracenote, Dolby, Mashery, Facebook, Google, Aloompa, and PandoDaily, Codemkrs is presenting a 24-hour code marathon at Outside Lands.

Outside HacksOutside Hacks” will challenge developers, designers, idea people to enhance fans and musician’s experiences at the festival through the development of mobile apps. (Note: the hackthon is already sold out, except for musicians wishing to perform at the event.)

The hackathon will take place Saturday August, 3rd at 3:00 PM to Sunday, August 4th at 3:00 PM at the Eventbrite Headquarters in San Francisco.

According to Laurendine, Outside Hacks will give hackers the chance to “bring their apps to life in a real world scenario teeming with diehard music fans.”

Prizes will come from Outside Lands (ultimate hacker experience & schwag), Gracenote (Cash and Prizes) , Dolby (Cash and Prizes) , Facebook (opportunity, HQ visit & schwag), Google (experience & schwag), Mashery (Prize), Aloompa (chance to join official OSL app team), PandoDaily (schwag & press), Aqua Hydrate (Water & Schwag) and more.

Finalists will be chosen on Sunday after the hackathon. A Grand and Runner Up prize will be awarded on Wednesday, August 7th at the Outside Hacks Official Awards Celebration. The event will be held at 7:30 PM at the Independent in San Francisco. Admission is free through Eventbrite. Guests can also expect a surprise Grammy Award winning artist to perform.
