TEDx are independently held TED events, or “ideas worth spreading” events. On March 9th, 2013, Louisiana State University is hosting their own TEDx event, TEDxLSU, with the theme of Evolve. The event is designed to generate new thought by connecting existing resources, people, and ideas at the local level, with the same impact as regular TED talks. Nearly two dozen lecturers, both from the university and the larger Baton Rouge community, will present speeches no more than 18 minutes long.
Chocolate-based toothpaste may sound crazy, but one local company is changing the way we handle oral care forever. Theodent uses chocolate/cocoa-based ingredients which work better at lower concentrations than fluoride. They have three products available right now: Theodent Classic, Theodent 300, and Theodent Kids.
Launch Media, an ever-expanding video production company, is once again finding a new home. Originally based out of the Celtic Media Centre, additionally with a New Orleans office which opened in June, the company will soon be anchoring a workspace in the 11,500 square foot Creative Bloc building in downtown Baton Rouge.
